US Open Tennis Championships
The nation’s biggest tennis tournament returns to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to close out the summer. The Grand Slam event brings the biggest stars in tennis, such as defending singles champs Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek, to New York City. Qualifying matches (which you can attend for free) and Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day take place in the days leading up to the official start; both are part of the tournament’s family-friendly Fan Week (August 22–27), which also includes concerts, a Flavors of the Open food event and an exhibition match between some tennis greats—those last two require tickets. The main draw begins August 28.
